James Wan’s new film, M3GAN is sure to shock audiences. The film carries a sci-fi horror plot, with undertones of comedy. It's a thrilling ride. It tackles the topic “will technology take over the role that parents have”, very well. It’s not the scariest thing in the world, but it will have some watchers vomiting… or at least joking they will.
What’s the film about?
When Cady survives a car crash that killed her parents, her Aunt Gemma takes her in. Gemma is a roboticist. When she realizes that she lacks parenting skills, she gives Cady her prototype for a realistic robot doll she has made, called M3GAN (Model 3 Generative Android). Soon M3GAN goes haywire and starts murdering people.
M3GAN is incredibly realistic and creepy. The character has her funny moments, but will usually scare you to death. It’s creepy, but not scary enough to deserve an R rating. The film is rated PG-13.
The film is amazing, but if someone wanted to make it better, they should either make it scarier or funnier.
M3GAN is now playing only in theaters.
